Day 17: Trust

By: Leslie Vance

Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV)
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

People always say that they  CAN  trust that God can  help  them, but in their hearts they sometimes don’t believe that God WILL help them.

The question becomes, Is it God’s will for them?

You cannot build trust with someone that you do not know. You probably would not invite a stranger to sleep over as a guest at your home. First,  you don’t really know them. Secondly,  you don’t know what their true  intentions are. To build trust with some one we must get to know them and have a relationship with them by spending time with them. This is when we learn what they are all about and get to now their true character.

Its the same with God, when you seek him and build a relationship with Him , you get to know Him on a personal level  and know His true character. You start to TRUST Him. You get to know His heart and His heart toward you.

In Proverbs, we learn that TRUSTING God will gain understanding. Then you will not lean on your own understanding. How many of you are going around constantly wondering which path to take?  You need God’s wisdom and understanding  on the paths you are to travel. The key for understanding the  direction on the map of your life is TRUSTING God with ALL your heart!

If You ever wonder what God’s will for you is, begin to  study these scriptures, He even reveals His secrets to us because He loves us.

3 John 1:2
Beloved. I pray you to prosper concerning all things and to be in good health, just as you soul prospers.

Isaiah 53:4-6
Surely he took up our pain
and bore our suffering,
yet we considered him punished by God,
stricken by him, and afflicted.
But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
and by his wounds we are healed.
We all, like sheep, have gone astray,
each of us has turned to our own way;
and the Lord has laid on him
the iniquity of us all.

Psalm 9:10
Those who know your name trust in you,
for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you.
