Day 2: A Reminder

By: Andy McMahon

Ecclesiastes 5:3 For a dream comes through much activity.  And a fool’s voice is known for many words.

You’ve made it one day! (Or maybe you haven’t. That’s OK too! today is day 1 then, let’s press forward!). Things are starting to get real. You might have a headache, and you might be pretty hungry. Let me encourage you to keep going!

Yesterday, Pastor Manny taught us about “The Proof of Pursuit”. I took a lot of notes, but I wanted to share a bit about one of his very first points.

If pursuit is the proof of desire, then the proof of pursuit is preparation.

Then it clicked. This fast isn’t the end game. This fast is preparation for what I’m expecting or….. my desire.

I desire a lot of things both corporately and personally. I have a list of things that I need God to show up for. Some of them, I’ve been trying to do on my own for too long. Some of them are just too big for me to achieve by myself.

Corporately, I desire to see lives changed.

People healed

Marriages reunited

Prodigals come home.

Lost souls saved.

Revival

So, where’s the proof of my desire?

It’s in my preparation.

So, you might be asking, “What’s the reminder?”.

The reminder is that you’re fasting for a reason. There are things in your life that are just too big for you to handle alone. There are friends and family in your life that you desire to come to (or back to) Christ. You have desires that can not be achieved without this fast. So let’s remember that this fast is our preparation. A launching pad for the things that we desire in our church. A launching pad for things you desire in your life. A launching pad to see God move supernaturally throughout Gwinnett County and beyond!

What are you expecting?

I’m expecting a breakthrough in my finances and family. I want my family to have an encounter with the Lord like they’ve never received before. Draw us closer to him and allow our hearts to receive the love he wants to rain down on us.
