Day 24: Call On Him

By: Jill Wallace

A testimony:

In November of 2004, we had just returned from adopting my son, Aleks, from Russia. When we returned home, I began a battle on the inside. At the time, I did not recognize that it was happening. I decided that I was just having a difficult time coping with the experience of being in the “sick” baby home, seeing all of the children who did not have moms and dads. Surely this would pass in time.

Months passed. I continued having waves of sadness, and again, I just told myself that it was “normal” to feel that way. In May of 2005, Maddie and I were on a mission trip in New Orleans. We were feeding the homeless men in the park, and a darkness came over me. Literal darkness. I only remember that Maddie and I left the trip early, and I was taken to the hospital. Over the next months, there were very trying times, most of which I don’t remember.

And then…

Hope.

Psalm 50:15 tells us, “Call on Me in your time of trouble. I will rescue you, and you will give Me glory.”

God did not make me sick, and He never left me. He was there all along. He just needed an action from me. His promise was there all along: I WILL RESCUE YOU. What did He ask of me?

Call on Me.

1 John 5:14 says, “This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.”

He hears you! He is listening! What is it that you are contending for?

Do you need healing? Call on Him.

Are you struggling with your job? Call on Him.

Do you have a loved one who has gone astray and needs to come home? Call on Him.

As we call on Him and he restores us, He receives all of the glory, honor and praise for the restoration. As we are fasting and seeking His voice, you can approach your Father knowing that He desires to hear your voice. He is waiting. Simply call on Him.

I called on Jesus, and He healed me. My daughter came to the saving knowledge of Him as I was taken out of the pit of depression. His Glory is revealed when we CALL ON HIM!

Heavenly Father, we approach you as your children, declaring all of the authority given to us by You. We trust You and seek Your face in every area of our lives. Helpus to call on You. Bring us new revelations every morning as we come before you. We know You will rescue us and the glory will be yours. The one thing we desire is to know You more, Father. In Jesus name. Amen
