Prayer Focus:

Released into a full revelation of our rights in Christ.

Scripture Focus:

But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God,  – John 1:12

The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, 17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him. Romans 8:16-17

Today’s prayer focus is to seek the Lord for a deep heart revelation of our rights as believers in Christ Jesus.  There is no sounder a foundation to stand on than as a child of God, yet do we really comprehend this place of security?  In Romans 8, it declares the Holy Spirit bears witness with our spirit that we are the children of God.  As I read this,  I imagine a court room where an adversary stands before a judge accusing us of all wrong doing, and in our defense we stand up and say to the judge, “I believe in Jesus so by his death I am free from those accusations.”  Although our testimony is true, what seals the deal of our freedom is when from the back of the room, in walks a mighty nobleman who confirms our testimony and stands up proclaiming to the judge that our adversary has no ground to stand on, and we are to be set free.

So are the rights of a child of God.  To have the one true and all powerful God as our “Daddy” to stand up as protector, defender, and provider.

Let’s Pray:

Heavenly Father, we cry out to you today for a supernatural awakening in our hearts to be able to truly live as children of God.  Our heart’s desire is to be unshakeable, perceiving your love in all things.  We are amazed at the grace allowed us to call you Abba, to draw close to you as a son on his daddy’s lap.  Father, reveal to us in new ways our rights as believers that set us free from the fears, anxieties, and accusations of this world.  Uphold us to rise into the place of honor and strength you have ordained us for. In the name of Jesus. Amen.
